The Georgia School of Construction is a NAHETS member school in the northern rural Georgia city of Conyers. The school offers a beginner's level training program in heavy equipment operations. As part of the program's curriculum, students learn about several kinds of heavy equipment machines, such as bulldozers, hydraulic excavator and wheel loaders. Georgia's introductory training program prepares graduates for a variety of careers, from excavation and mining to even pool contractor. Admissions requirements are minimal---students must maintain a driver's license and be in good physical condition. The school alternatively features two mobile crane training programs.

The Oklahoma City-based Red Rock College features two programs for those interested in heavy equipment operations studies. The Level I program prepares graduates for entry-level posts as loaders, dozers or skid steer operators. The program's curriculum takes only three weeks to complete on a full-time schedule and includes courses in civil blueprint reading, excavation math and basic rigging. Red Rock heavy equipment students can continue study within the college's more comprehensive Level II program. The NAHETS member college also hosts construction programs in mobile crane operations and rigging, in addition to several medical training programs.

Peak College is in the Central Valley, California city of Stockton. Peak's program catalog includes educational opportunities for heavy equipment operations studies at all levels. The college's Level I and II heavy equipment operations programs each take three weeks to complete and both include courses mathematics, bulldozing and blueprint reading, in addition to a host of other pertinent excavation site training skills. Peak also offers heavy equipment operators the chance for career advancement through an associate degree program. The four-semester Associate of Applied Science in Construction Management program includes sociology and interpersonal communication coursework, in addition to occupational courses. Many of Peak's associate degree courses can be completed through online study.
