Look for an approved program that will provide you with an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification card upon completion. Go the the American Red Cross website and click on the Preparing and Getting Trained link at the top left.
Click on the "Get Trained" link from the menu options. Choose CPR, First Aid and AED from this menu. This will direct you to the general information page on "Taking a Class."
Enter your ZIP code into the class-finder box to search for and find your nearest local Helena, Montana course. You will be given results such as the Montana chapter of the American Red Cross.
Click on the local Montana link for "Take a Class." Go to the Health and Safety Classes page. This page provides a menu by city and information on online class registration. Click on the Helena tab. You will be brought to a new page. Enter your Helena ZIP code. Select the CPR course, a date range and your chosen course format. A map of the area will appear with points for local classes.
Click on the Helena location on the map. This provides you with links to CPR classes. Review the class for exact location, dates and times. If it acceptable, scroll to the bottom and click "Register" to sign up online.
Go to the location specified on your CPR/First Aid registration. Many certification classes are one-day workshops. Prepare to be at the training for eight hours during a one-day workshop.
Complete the workshop with your instructor. This will include learning and practicing CPR and first-aid techniques on a specially prepared dummy.
Demonstrate your knowledge of CPR and first aid through a practical and/or written test. After completion, your instructor will either issue you a certification card or send it to you in the mail.
