Consult with others in your field while designing the course. Even though you may be an expert, the opinions of others in your field will make for a more well-rounded course. Put together a proposal of your course for submission to the accreditation agency.
Learn the requirements for accreditation. These differ slightly with each agency, but five specifications that form the foundation are essentially the same. They are: peer-review, independent study, action, external review and site visits.
Contact an accreditation agency. Choose one that has been reviewed by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation -- or CHEA -- for excellence.
