The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) provides application forms for individuals interested in assisting with matric invigilation. These forms can be obtained from the GDE's website or from any of its regional offices.
To apply for assistance with matric invigilation, you will need to submit the following documents:
* A completed application form
* A copy of your ID document (certified)
* A copy of your highest qualification (certified)
* A valid police clearance certificate
* Two recent passport-size photographs
Once you have submitted your application, the GDE will review it and contact you if you are selected for an interview.
If you are selected for an interview, you will be required to attend an orientation session. During the orientation session, you will be provided with information about the invigilation process, your responsibilities, and the GDE's policies and procedures.
After completing the orientation session, you will be assigned to an invigilation team and will be provided with a schedule of your duties.
As an invigilator, you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring that the examination room is secure and that there is no unauthorised access
* Checking the identity of candidates and ensuring that they are seated in the correct places
* Distributing and collecting examination papers
* Ensuring that candidates have the necessary resources and that they are not disturbed during the examination
* Reporting any irregularities or disruptions to the examination centre manager
Invigilation is a voluntary position, but invigilators are entitled to a stipend for their services.
