Attend a Rush meeting, which is an event that is designed to solicit new members. During the period of the Rush, you will submit documents such as your transcript, two letters of reference, a letter that confirms your status as a full-time student, an Undergraduate Membership Application form that can be downloaded from AKA's website, an Evidence of Community/Campus Involvement Form and a one-page letter of interest to the sorority's Membership Chairman. Also talk with AKA members you know and find out when and where the Rush meeting will begin.
Maintain good grades. In order to be considered for membership into Alpha Kappa Alpha, you must have a cumulative and semester average of C+ prior to submitting your application for membership into this sorority.
Perform community service prior to applying for membership. Visit your campus career services office and tell the counselor what types of community service you're interested in. Research any current opportunities in your city and contact the directors of these organizations and get more information. Community service is another important factor in the sorority's choice of members.
