Become a full-time undergraduate student on a university campus where a local chapter of AKA is located.
Complete one semester of college coursework as a full-time student. Semester coursework is different for each university, so make sure you follow your specific university's guidelines governing full-time coursework completion.
Earn a cumulative C+ grade point average (or a rating of "good standing" in a pass-fail universities) for the semester immediately prior to the submission of your application materials.
Submit an application form to the AKA representative on your campus (see reference 2).
Attend your university's official sorority Rush. The time, date and location is different for every university, so make sure you locate the Rush schedule for your university and attend the official undergraduate Rush activity for the AKA Sorority.
If offered acceptance into AKA, you'll receive an official letter from the sorority outlining the membership intake process. Follow all instructions as determined by the local chapter of the sorority and any additional guidelines for sorority members, as determined by your university.
Complete a baccalaureate degree with a cumulative C+ or better average. If you have already completed a graduate degree from an accredited university, you may also seek membership.
According to the Graduate Guidelines, women seeking a graduate membership must also have, "Motivation and ability to promote and extend the policies and programs of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority."
Respond to an invitation from the local graduate chapter of AKA. You are unable to initiate membership without an invitation.
Sign your letter of invitation and return the letter to the local chapter president.
