Take into consideration the Ashton Residence Center. This five-building community of dormitories is located in the central part of campus and features Hershey, Johnston, Moffat, Stemple and Vos dorm buildings. This residential area is for underclassmen and upperclassmen alike and features single- and two-room suites. Rooms in these buildings are roughly 133 square feet. If you live in one of these dormitories, you'll have to purchase a school meal plan.
Look into Mason Hall if you want to live in a different manner than traditional dorm rooms. Mason Hall is an on-campus apartment that can house six students in double bedrooms. These apartments are open to first-year students, are much cheaper than single- or double-rooms and don't require residents to purchase a meal plan. Mason Hall is co-educational.
Check out the Read Residence Center on the southwestern part of the Indiana University campus. This area is comprised of four dormitory areas connected by a central hub. the Read Residence Center offers double, single and large double rooms. In fact, some of the large double rooms offer a private bathroom as opposed to the community-style bathroom offered for the double and single rooms. Square footage of the rooms range from 120 to 160.
