Choose a theme, such as places you have been (both nationally and internationally), places you would like to go, places that friends and family have gone, or the type of pictures depicted on the postcards. Use postcards from your personal collection or purchase postcards from airports, drug stores, vintage retailers or from online stores. Print your own postcard-style pictures from your computer using photo software and photo-quality paper.
Place a heavy amount of postcards on one specific wall or place several concentrations of postcards on all of the walls of your dorm room. Combine them with posters of some of the locations for added effect. Create effects such as spelling out letters (such as your name) or different shapes.
Decide how you want the postcards displayed. Place them on canvas or cardboard cut to size, attached using glue or double-sided tape and place them in a picture frame. Cut several pieces of poster board (using multiple colors if you wish) and glue the postcards to the poster board. Attach the poster boards to your wall with double-sided tape for easy removal. Attach the postcards directly to your dorm wall using double-sided tape.
