How to Cite As an End Note

End notes are one option used in to cite sources according to the Chicago Manual of Style. The Chicago style is used primarily for papers in history, literature or fields in the arts. The Notes-Bibliography System (or NB) is the system employed by Chicago style to cite sources and you can use either a foot note or an end note. Foot notes are added at the bottom of each page, while end notes are placed at the end of the paper.

      Gather your information. For each end note, you should have the author, the title, the page number and publication information (date, place and publisher.)

      Cite the first name, last name and title of the author (in italics,) then the publication information in parentheses, followed by the page number in an end note. For example: Jane Doe, Here and There (Chicago, IL: Traveling Book Publishers, 2002), 87.

      Cite the same source used twice in a row by putting the end note as "Ibid" and the page number. For example: Ibid, 202.
