How to Cite Videos in Text

Citing a video, movie, or film in the text of a paper is necessary if you used information or an idea from the video in your paper. Citations are required in high school, college, and graduate level academic papers, as well as other formal writings.       Type the year of the video's release in parenthesis followed by a period. For example: (2001).

      Type the name of the country where the film was made followed by a colon, then the name of the film studio or distributor. For example: United States: Universal Studios.

      The entire citation format is: Producer, A. (Producer). Director, A. (Director). (Year). Movie Title [Motion Picture]. Country of Origin: Studio.
