Go to all of your classes. In some college classes, attendance counts as part of your overall grade. However, even if attendance doesn't count towards your grade, you still don't want to miss class. By missing class, you can miss valuable information that you won't be able to pick up anywhere else. When in class, be sure to pay attention and take good notes as well.
Stay organized by investing in a day planner and using it wisely. Record all of your examination dates and project or paper due dates in your day planner. Write down what studying or assignments you will work on every day. Refer to your day planner often to help keep you on track.
Study every day. People who maintain a high GPA in college don't wait until the last minute to study for an exam. They study a bit each day starting on day 1. Set aside time every day to study for your classes. Even a small amount of time will be helpful to you. As part of your studying, be sure to review your class notes and read your textbooks.
Do all assignments and turn them in on time. If you know you have an essay or project due in a month, start working on it now. You will do much better if you allow yourself time to actually get the work done without being rushed. Use your day planner to keep you informed of project and paper due dates, as well as due dates for homework assignments.
Ask for help. If you have a question in class, raise your hand and ask. College professors want you to ask questions because it means that you are actually thinking about the course material. If you have questions or concerns that you prefer to discuss in private, visit the professor during his office hours and ask him for help.
