Master the foundations thoroughly. Nursing is built on a series of foundations. An understanding of biology can help you understand microbiology. Studying algebra can prepare you for statistics. Classes in high school chemistry can enable you to do well in college-level organic chemistry. Make sure that you understand all facets of one class before you take another class in the same subject.
Form a study group. A study group can help you pinpoint your weaknesses and work on improving them. If you have trouble with certain aspects of a subject you can work with your peers to improve. A fellow classmate may be able to explain a subject better than a professor. Meet at least once a week.
Attend full time. If possible, arrange your finances so you can attend school without an outside job or other commitments. Full-time attendance will allow you to focus all your attention on class work.

Read the list closely and try your best to buy each book instead of photocopying relevant passages at the library. If you have the book in your possession you can study more carefully.
