Top 10 Universities of the World

There are universities all over the world. To determine the best universities for 2009, U.S. News and World Report compiled a list based on the Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings. Individual university scores included academic peer review, employer review, student-to-faculty ratio, international faculty, international students and citations per faculty, which were used to decide the overall scores.

    • Harvard University was created in 1636 and is America’s oldest higher learning institution. Harvard went from an enrollment of nine students and one teacher to over 18,000 degree candidates. Harvard Extension School has an additional 13,000 students enrolled in one or more courses. Harvard’s overall score is 100 percent.

Overall score is 99.6 percent.
