Choose a college offering a civil engineering program that you would like to attend. Apply and gain acceptance into the college of your choice, making sure that you declare civil engineering as your major.
Complete and pass all course work required for the civil engineering program, as well as the general courses all students must take. Your adviser will be able to tell you what courses you need and when to take them during your college career. These classes include math, mechanics and engineering. You will also need to meet general education requirements in subjects such as psychology, sociology and history.
Your college may require you to complete an internship with a local company. If so, apply for an internship with the company of your choice and work all hours required.
Apply for graduation with your college at the beginning of your final semester. Your graduation will be contingent on passing all of your final courses. Your adviser or registrar can help you with this process.
Attend your college graduation ceremony and receive your civil engineering diploma.
