When did people start trading?

Trading dates back to the earliest civilizations. Evidence suggests that trading of goods and services has been practiced since the Neolithic era, around 10,000 BC, when humans began settling in permanent communities and developing agriculture. Initially, trading involved the direct exchange of goods or services through bartering. Over time, people developed systems of indirect trading using intermediary items as currency, leading to the emergence of money and formal markets.
