    • The Dogwood Institute School of Fine Woodworking, located just north of Atlanta in the suburban area of Alpharetta, offers courses in woodworking that range from introductory to advanced. Students of the Dogwood Institute partake in courses with topics such as types of wood, lab equipment and its proper use, tool safety, the milling process and construction and design. The Dogwood Institute also offers specialty courses for the design of specific products including furniture, homes and art.     • Central Georgia Technical College, located in Macon, offers both certificate and associate degree programs in cabinet making and woodworking. Students who successfully complete the program learn the fundamentals of woodworking through courses that focus on materials, wood joints, cabinet designing and professional tool use and safety.     Gwinett Woodworkers Association

    • The Gwinett Woodworkers Association is located in the northeastern area of Atlanta in the suburb of Lilburn. The organization, which is approved for teaching through the American Association of Woodworkers, provides courses in woodworking and wood craft design. Students learn the arts of wood scrolling, construction, furniture making and cabinetry through the guidance of professional woodworkers in the industry. In addition to providing instruction in the field of woodworking, the Gwinett Woodworkers Association is also the main chapter of the American Woodworkers Union.
