The Institute of Art of Vancouver provides the skills and hands-on training you will need to enter the culinary field. You can learn about the basic concepts of baking by earning a Baking and Pastry Arts Level 1 Certificate, or learn more advanced baking techniques by earning your Level 2 Certificate; both take just 22 weeks. For training in baking and culinary business operations, you can earn a Baking and Pastry Arts Diploma in 44 weeks. You can also earn Level 1 and Level 2 Certificates in the Culinary Arts, or a Culinary Arts Diploma, which includes culinary techniques as well as food and environmental sanitation and safety. With your Culinary Arts Diploma you will be prepared to find employment as a prep cook, line cook, or first cook.
