Communication Technology Schools

The pursuit of higher education is the practice of students worldwide. In this pursuit, the degree program options are numerous and higher education institutions are abundant. One educational track is a technical education in which students receive hands-on training in a career field, along with classroom lessons. Communication technology certificates and degrees are offered both online and at on-site campuses.
  1. American InterContinental University

    • Established in 1970, American InterContinental University has offered students educational opportunities at campuses located in the U.S. and London, England. The Associate of Arts in Visual Communication (AA) degree is available at the London, Atlanta and Houston campuses. Through this program, students develop an awareness of the elements concerning visual language and aesthetics sensitivity. Core courses include Fundamentals of Color, Typography Design I and Portfolio and Career Concepts.

    ITT Tech

    • Two different communication technology oriented programs are offered at ITT Tech. The associate degree programs include visual communications. The ITT School of Electronics Technology offers a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering Technology. This program is comprised of technical courses and hands-on educational opportunities. Technology courses include digital communication systems, communications cabling, data and network communications and modern wireless communications.

    University of Phoenix

    • Established in 1976 and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), University of Phoenix offers different program options for students pursuing an education in the field of communication technology. Non-degree-seeking students have the choice of completing the coursework necessary to obtain a certificate in Visual Communication. University of Phoenix students also are offered a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a concentration in Multimedia and Visual Communication. Technical design and communication development are covered in each of these programs. Classes can be taken online or at one of the school's more than 200 campuses nationwide.

    Westwood College

    • In addition to online programs, Westwood College is home to 17 different campuses dispersed throughout six states. The bachelor's in Visual Communications program is offered online, as well as in California, Georgia, Illinois, Texas and Virginia. Courses focus on print production, image editing, advertising, digital illustration and package design. Graduates of this program are prepared to work as a communications manager, graphic design manager and design artist and illustrator.
