The campus was established in 1965 and is located adjacent to Daytona Beach International Airport. The student body consists of approximately 5,000 students with a student to faculty ratio of 16-to-1.
Students attending Embry-Riddle's air traffic maintenance program will learn the curriculum in the air traffic control simulation laboratories, the air traffic management research laboratory, and the meteorology laboratories. Graduates will be able to bypass the first five weeks of the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Management Academy training.

Texas Southern University is one of the United States' largest historically black universities. TSU, located in Houston, Texas, offers a bachelor of science degree in aviation science management. Graduates of the program can advance to careers as air traffic control specialists, air carrier managers, airport managers, or general aviation operations managers.
The emphasis on the aviation science management curriculum is to prepare students to compete in an arena dominated by future aviation management automation. The aviation science management program has been fully accredited by the National Association of Industrial Technology.
