The Saratoga County Fire Service offers training courses in cities throughout the county. To recruit and develop new firefighting professionals and help keep its existing workforce current in the latest firefighting techniques and concerns, the countywide organization schedules classes periodically at fire stations in different locales. The Saratoga County Emergency Medical Services Council educates paramedics and other emergency medical services (EMS) professionals at its training center in Ballston Spa.
The coursework provided by the county fire service includes an introduction to firefighting for people interested in exploring a career in the field. Firefighter I and Firefighter II courses train prospects for entry level jobs. Fire officer classes and specialty training in areas that include emergency response and chemical-assisted suicide are also available.
