There are three-day intensive programs or months-long programs, all held in Philadelphia. The Institute for Integrative Nutrition calls itself the "world's largest nutrition school" and offers a program in integrative nutrition health coaching. Online courses focus on nutrition education and business training. Nutrition courses emphasize food energetics, dietary theories and superfoods; modern health emphases include government policies, emotional eating, school food and the American health crisis; professional focus includes health coaching and lifestyle coursework.
The Natural Cooking School offers an eight-month program that emphasizes the role of food in a "radiant level of health and wellness" while teaching social, agricultural and environmental responsibility. Three locations (in Mercerville and Haddonfield, N.J., and Manhattan, N.Y.) are the settings for coursework that includes training in kitchen setup, seasonal cooking and menu planning, food history and current politics, healthy family cooking, career opportunities, food presentation and world peace and social change through food.
