Medical Certificate Schools

Medical certificates or medical diploma programs enable individuals to pursue positions in the health care field such as medical assistants, radiologic technologist and diagnostic medical sonographer. The programs typically include classroom instruction, clinical hands-on learning components and externship opportunities. A variety of schools around the U.S. offer various medical certificate programs.

    • The College of Southern Nevada is a community college that operates three main campuses: two in Las Vegas and one in Henderson, Nevada. It offers Certificates of Achievement programs in the healthcare field such as medical laboratory assistant, medical coding, medical office assisting, practical nursing, surgical technology and medical transcription. Contra Costa Medical Career College is a private vocational institute located in Antioch, California. It is committed to helping students develop and hone good clinical and interpersonal skills and scientific know-how to succeed in the healthcare field. It's certificate programs include phlebotomy technician I, clinical medical assisting, EKG technician, certified medical administrative assistant / electronic health records specialist, IV certification and pharmacy technician. Gateway Community College is located in Phoenix, Arizona. It is dedicated to innovative education and meeting the needs of the surrounding community. It offers medical certificates in diagnostic medical sonography, health unit coordinating, health services management, hospital central service technology, surgical technology, radiation therapy, nursing assisting, medical transcription, magnetic resonance imaging, practical nursing and perioperative nursing.     Southern U.S.

    • South Texas College is a community college with its main campus in McAllen, Texas and four other campuses in Hidalgo and Starr counties. It is dedicated to providing comprehensive education and career programs and services. The various medical certificate programs include medical assistant technology, patient care assistant, pharmacy technology and three levels of emergency medical technology. Indian River State College is based out of Vero Beach, Florida with five campuses located in Indian River, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Martin counties. It is committed to providing comprehensive and diverse education programs to enable students to acquire necessary career skills as well as expand their interests. The college's health science department offers various certificate programs including central service technology, emergency medical technology, health service management, medical assisting, medical coding, nuclear medicine technology, nursing assistant, phlebotomy, physical therapist assistant and surgical technology. It has three South Carolina locations: Georgetown, Myrtle Beach and Conway. It offers certificate programs in diagnostic medical sonography, health science, EMT-paramedic, surgical technology, medical record coder, medical office clerical assistant, nuclear medicine technology, radiologic technology and phlebotomy. Its medical certificate programs include health claims processing, health career pathways, medical assisting and three levels of emergency medical services-paramedic, emergency management response and instructor. Pennsylvania Institute of Technology is situated in Media, Pennsylvania. It is dedicated to working with students to promote success academically and professionally. It promotes personal growth, career enhancement and transfer to four-year institutions. The certificate programs include medical assistant, pharmacy technician, medical office specialist and medical billing and coding specialist.

    Midwest U.S.

    • The University of Cincinnati is a public research institution with its main campus located in downtown Cincinnati.
