With an enrollment of 67,082 students, Arizona State University (ASU) is America's largest medical technology program. ASU offers three medical technology degree programs at the Tempe campus. 57,222 enrolled students make MDC (Miami Dade College) the second largest medical technology school. While MDC is a four-year college, it offers a two-year Associate of Arts degree in Pre-medical Technology; this degree prepares students for transfer to a four-year degree program. MDC also offers a Career Technical Certificate in Phlebotomy, Medical Assisting, Practical Nursing and Pharmacy Technician. The college designed the one-year technical certificate as post-secondary training, which allows students immediate entry into the workforce. MDC offers two-year Associate of Science Allied Heath Technologies programs in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Laboratory Technology and Veterinary Technology--all of which the college designed to prepare students for the workforce. Students can transfer this program's credits to four-year programs.

Ohio State University (OSU) offers a bachelor's program in medical technology for its 53,715 enrolled students. This two-year program allows students to become certified medical technologists or go on to continue their education with graduate programs.
