The basic qualification for a lecturer in engineering is typically a
PhD in an engineering discipline relevant to the teaching area. However, a Master's degree with significant industrial experience *may* be considered in some cases, particularly for more vocational or applied teaching roles at lower educational levels (e.g., community colleges or vocational schools). Even then, a PhD is usually preferred, especially for tenure-track positions at universities.
Beyond the degree, teaching experience and strong communication skills are also crucial.
