The Department of International Development Studies at Dalhousie University strives to promote better understanding between developed societies and underdeveloped societies. The department offers opportunities in study, research and cross-cultural learning and it provides programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Among areas covered in courses are biology, comparative religion, economics, language study, political science, sociology and social anthropology. Students in the department are strongly encouraged to study abroad and to avail themselves of the educational programs for Uganda, Kenya and Cuba.
