How to Calculate My School Grades for Nine Weeks

Your GPA, or grade point average, is very important. It reflects just how hard you worked or have been working in school. Knowing your GPA is extremely helpful when it comes time for college admissions. Knowing how your GPA stacks up against the average GPA at a particular college or university will give you a good idea of your chances of acceptance. GPA also becomes important when it comes to keeping scholarships and grants. Luckily, knowing how to calculate your GPA is easy.

      Determine your letter grade's corresponding numerical value. The standard multiplier for GPA is A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1 and F = 0.

      Multiply the letter grade by the total amount of credit hours cor each class.

      Add all of the products together to get the amount of credit hours earned.

      Determine the total amount of credit hours attempted by multiplying each class's total credit hours by four. Add each of the products together for total credit hours attempted.

      Divide your credit hours earned by the total credit hours attempted. This number will compute your GPA.
