Research programs that interest you. Go to the public library and gather information about graduate schools that offer master's programs in your chosen area of study. Graduate school web databases are also a good resource.
Generate a list of graduate schools that offer programs in your field, and are located in an area where you would be willing to live. Make sure to include information such as the school's contact information, location, price and application deadline, as well as the availability of teaching assistantships and financial aid.
Register for the GRE. A passing score on the GRE is a requirement for the admission to most graduate programs. Be sure to check the minimum score requirements for the schools you are interested in. Register for the test, giving yourself one to two months to study in advance.
