Graduate Programs in Health Administration

According to the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics, job growth for health services managers is expected to grow through the year 2018. For many positions, a master's degree is required. Several universities and colleges across the country offer graduate programs in health administration for students and current health-care professionals looking for more specialized education in the health-care field.
  1. University of Maryland University College

    • The University of Maryland University College offers a Master of Science in Health Care Administration (MSHCA). The program consists of 36 credit hours and is geared toward professionals in the health-care field looking for a specialization in health-care administration. Students take foundation courses in general management followed by specialized courses in health care.

      Prospective students must submit an application to apply along with an official undergraduate transcript from a regionally accredited college. GRE scores are not required. The college is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Tuition as of the 2009-2010 school year is $445 per credit for Maryland residents and $659 per credit for non-Maryland residents.

    Seton Hall University

    • Seton Hall University offers a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from their Department of Public Healthcare Administration.     Mississippi College

    • Mississippi College offers a Master of Health Services Administration degree offered by the Office of Graduate Studies. The program requires each student to complete 30 credits of graduate coursework. Students take 24 credit hours of courses relating to health administration and six credit hours of elective courses in business or a related field. In addition to the completion of 30 credits, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to graduate from the program.
