The Stanford MBA program is a residential, full-time, two-year program that boasts small enrollment (about 390 students per class). Students who enroll in the MBA program may choose the standard MBA course of study or may pursue a certificate in public management, the first such MBA certificate program in the country. The MBA program also encourages students to incorporate classes from other graduate areas in order to create a degree that suits their needs.
In addition to the traditional MBA, students at Stanford's Graduate School of Business may choose to undertake joint degrees offered with four of Stanford's other graduate schools. Students can pursue a joint MS in Environmental Resources/MBA through the School of Earth Sciences; a joint MA in Education/MBA through the School of Education; a joint Master's in Public Policy/MBA degree through the School of Humanities and Sciences; or a joint JD/MBA through the Stanford Law School. Courses in joint degree programs may count toward either or both of the two degrees.
Stanford's Graduate School of Business also offers two dual degrees, for which courses pursued count toward only one degree or the other. In conjunction with the School of Engineering, the Graduate School of Business gives students the opportunity to pursue a dual MS in Bioengineering/MBA. Students can also choose to pursue a dual MD/MBA degree offered in conjunction with the Stanford School of Medicine.
