Visit the "Major and Career Profiles" section of CollegeBoard's website. Read through the available major categories. Expand the categories to view more specific choices. Click the link that shows your intended major. Read through the major details on the following page including available career options with the chosen major and what type of college courses are expected. Select the link in the right-hand menu that displays a list of colleges that offer the major. View the list in its entirety or sort the options by location, cost, size, test scores or application deadline. Choose a university and read through its profile or compare it to other schools.
Sign into your account at the Princeton Review. Go to Princeton Review's "Major Search." Type your intended major into the search box and click "Go." Read through the provided information including high school preparation, sample curriculum, career options and related majors. Click the "Schools Offering the Major" link under the major title. Review the list of universities offering your major. Click on the university link for more information such as admissions requirements, tuition and enrollment numbers.
Visit the "College Navigator" at the National Center for Education Statistics website. Choose your preferred state or states along with intended major. Click "Public" in the "Institution Type" field. Add any additional search options then click "Show Results." Click on the university links to see a full description of each institution.
Make an appointment with your guidance counselor if you are still attending high school. Explain your desired career path and review major options. Ask the guidance counselor to advise you on the public universities that offer your intended major. Review any available material and take notes during your meeting.
