Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing, Michigan offers several programs within the college of education and department of kinesiology. The physical education specialization prepares doctoral students for work in fitness management, coaching and teaching. Students enrolled at the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama may select from one of several programs that aim to prepare students for careers in sports. Students may specialize in sports management, sports coaching or sports studies. A Doctor of Education in Sports Management offers three areas of specialization: leadership in sports, sports marketing and human resources management in sports. They also focus on sports medicine and Olympism. Graduates from this doctoral program go on to careers in fitness management, coaching and education.
