Scholarships for Writing Poems

Every year, the cost of a college education rises. To pay their school fees and earn pocket money, some students work multiple jobs or obtain government help. Other students, particularly those who enjoy creative writing, look to essay and poetry scholarships. Although poetry scholarships are usually competitive, talented students who apply to many scholarships usually have a good chance at winning at least one.

    • Administered by the law firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart in Boston, the Amy Lowell Poetry Traveling Scholarship provides a scholarship of over $50,000 for one year of international study, as of 2010.
