Grants for Graduating Seniors

Senior year comes and goes and then it's time to start over by becoming a college freshman. Besides the pressures of college looming before you, there's only one obstacle that may be worse than any college exam: paying for it. However, there are numerous grants available to graduating seniors. In fact, there are over 1,000 grant programs that are offered by federal agencies.
  1. Federal Pell Grants

    • Federal Pell Grants are funded by the federal government which awards money to undergraduates so they can continue to pursue their education after high school. For the 2010 to 2011 years, the maximum Pell Grant award was $5,550. In order to receive this award, you must be enrolled at least part-time in a college program that leads to an associate or bachelor's degree or certificate.

    Academic Competitive Grant

    • The Charley Wootan Grant Program is a first-come, first-serve, need-based grant program in Texas to undergraduate students. Every year this program provides up to $4,394 per successful applicant. Since 2000, this grant program has awarded nearly $9.8 million.
