Decide which program you wish to attend. See "Resources" for a list of RN to MSN programs.
Acquire the transcripts from each college you have attended. Be sure to leave the transcripts unopened when you receive them, otherwise they will be considered unofficial. Some colleges will require the transcripts to be sent directly from your college to theirs.
Get at least three letters of recommendation from your professors and previous employers. The letters should attest to your academic prowess, dedication to nursing and your overall good character.
Apply to the MSN program of your choice. Most programs will require you to send your transcripts and letters of recommendation. Check with the school for the supporting documents they require. Be sure to pay the application fee or apply for a fee waiver.
Register for classes.
Buy your books.
Attend classes and graduate in roughly three years as a newly minted MSN.
