Crisis Response International

• Based in Las Vegas, Crisis Response International (CRI) offers a wide array of counter-terrorism courses to civilian and governmental organizations. The program is available worldwide, and new courses are updated on an ongoing basis. The instructors at CRI are former members of the Israeli Special Forces. The program also is available to military and law enforcement personnel. Course highlights in counter-terrorism include anti-hijacking, counter-suicide bomber and car bombing training, anti-hijacking training for pilots and flight crew and anti-terrorism training for overseas contractors and executives. The courses run for about one week and can be taken either at the company’s headquarters or at a different location, by appointment. Courses can be customized to meet the needs of specific industries.

Henley Putnam University

• Henley Putnam University is located in San Jose, and specializes in protection, intelligence and counter-terrorism training. The university is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). Prospective candidates can enroll in bachelors and masters degree programs in terrorism and counter-terrorism studies. Other short-certificate programs include management of personal protection, intelligence management and terrorism and counter-terrorism courses. Course highlights include explosives and arson, weapons of mass destruction and forms of terrorism. In addition to taking undergraduate courses, the university also awards masters and doctoral degrees in strategic security, counter-terrorism, protection and intelligence.

International Institute for Counter Terrorism

• Based in Israel, the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) offers courses in counter-terrorism, in partnership with the Lauder School of Diplomacy and Strategy. The training includes both classroom and practical instruction, through workshops and simulation models. The program runs for three weeks and is comprised of six graduate-level courses. Candidates who successfully complete the training will receive an Executive Certificate. In addition to the executive certificate training, prospective applicants also can enroll in the masters program in government.
