Grants for LPN Students

An LPN, or licensed practical nurse, provides extensive hands-on care to patients. He or she works under the supervision of a doctor or a registered nurse. In order to become an LPN, you must graduate from an LPN program. Such programs can be found at vocational schools, community colleges, private colleges and on-line. Programs typically take a year to complete. Grants, unlike loans, do not have to be repaid and can help ease some of your financial burden as a student.
  1. Pell Grant

    • Perhaps the best known grant is the federal Pell Grant, available to undergraduates based on financial need. To qualify for a Pell, or any other kind of financial assistance for that matter, you must first complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you've wrestled with this form before, you'll be pleased to find that it's been streamlined considerably, and the 150-plus-question paper version is all but obsolete, since more than 90 percent of applicants now complete the application on-line.
