This course is designed to familiarize students with federal statutes and regulations that pertain to immigration law and the field of importing and exporting.
Customs Administration is an introduction to the regulation and legislation that governs excise and customs as it relates to the exportation and importation of goods.
This course prepares students for his or her field placement requirement. Topics that are covered in this course include the fields of customs, freight forwarding, immigration, importing/exporting (private industry) and brokerage. A computer and mathematics component is also included in this course.
An introduction to the business of importing and exporting; the first part of this course covers the customs brokerage industry while the second portion concentrates on freight forwarding and the geographic problems that may occur with logistics. Logistics includes general transportation systems.
A computer-based instructional course that uses practical applications as an educational tool. Throughout this course, students go through the process of exporting and importing with actual data, computer usage and form.
This course is concentrated on the application of conflict resolution. The emphasis of this program is on intervention strategies and provides students with a working knowledge of the role behavior dynamics that are associated with the resolution of conflict.
Customs Career Preparation typically requires students to complete a number of prerequisites and is completed towards the end of a customs and immigration program. Mock interviewing, research and testing are included in this program in an effort to prepare students for a successful search for employment in the import and export field of customs and immigration.
