Educators of Beauty use the pivot point method of education. Leo Passage invented this method, which works on the theory that all haircuts are variations of a few basic haircut styles. Students master the basic styles first, learning the foundation for all types of styles. The cosmetology course runs 1,500 hours, and the nail technology course runs 350 hours. The cosmetology course includes education in hair sculpturing, color design, esthetics, nail technology, marketing, sales and business principles. The nail technology course includes education on pedicures and manicures, public health, safety, sanitation and business practices. Both programs offer students the opportunity to partake in workshops conducted by industry leaders.
