Review the CPA Candidate Bulletin. This document contains vital information relevant to the application, execution and results of the CPA exam. Familiarize yourself with the exam by reading this document. Pay particular attention to previous requirements and any rules or regulations by which you must abide during the examination process. Reference the Frequently Asked Questions page prior to the exam to clear up any confusing points about the examination process. Use the "Contact Us" link on that URL to contact the AICPA directly in the event of confusion prior to the exam.
Practice for the exam by reading the exam tutorial by AICPA (see Resources). Take practice tests on this webpage as well. Take several practice tests and score yourself on each one to find on what level you are consistently performing. Review subject matter in your weak areas, and retest yourself until you have improved to a level with which you are satisfied.
Arrange private sessions with your professors to study for the exam. Come prepared with specific questions or topics which still remain confusing to you outside of class.
Prepare for the exam by reviewing your own class notes, lectures and past projects. Form study groups with others taking the examination. Practice teaching the material to one another to prove that you are fully comfortable with it.
Ask professors and other DeVry supervisors for suggestions about study methods, materials, books or courses that may greatly increase your preparedness for the exam. Having most likely been through the examination already themselves, they are a great resource for finding success tips.
