Order personalized graduation announcements. These should include your name, the college you're graduating from, your major and the date of your graduation. Place your order in advance, so that you'll be able to send them close to your graduation date.
Place the card or postcard into the inner envelope. This is the smaller of the two envelopes and it does not have gum on the closing. Many graduates also wish to enclose a graduation picture with the announcement.
Address the inner envelope. You can do this informally, such as writing "Mom and Dad" or "Aunt Joanne."
Insert the inner envelope into the outer envelope. Seal the envelope shut with the provided gum.
Address the outer envelope. This should be formal. For example, even though you are sending it to your mom and dad, you will still want to write "Mr. and Mrs. Donald McCormick." Write your own name and address in the upper left corner.
Place a stamp in the upper right corner. Most graduation announcements take standard postage, but if your envelope seems heavy or oddly shaped, take it to the post office to find the exact postage.
Send the invitations by placing them in an outgoing mail box.
