How to Word a College Master's Degree Graduation Announcement

Earning a master's degree is a huge accomplishment. After all the hundreds of books have been read and tests taken, graduation day is a time to celebrate with family and friends. However, it's unlikely that all of your friends and family will be able to attend your graduation ceremony due to schedule conflicts or space limitations. Thus, a properly formatted graduation announcement is a wonderful way to include everyone in your special day.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide whether to write your announcement on behalf of your parents or from the university from which you are graduating. Announcements are usually written on behalf of the parents, but this is not necessary. If the announcement is issued from your parents, include "Mr. and Mrs." followed by your father's full name and a short message like "proudly announce their son's Master's Degree Graduation in Astrology." If you write from the perspective of your academic institution, write, "The President, Faculty and Graduation class of Local University announce that Student's Name has earned a Master's Degree in Astrology."

    • 2

Include any academic distinctions you received, such as your degree title and any awards or honors you received as a student. State these immediately after the type of degree you obtained.

    • 3

Add a phrase indicating the achievement and/or completion of the program, such as: "Commencement will be on Saturday, June 6, 2011, to celebrate this accomplishment and milestone."
