The 130-year-old program at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, is one of the oldest and most respected schools of architecture in the country. The university offers two four-year degrees, a B.F.A. in architecture and a B.S. in the history of architecture, as well as a five-year degree for a bachelor's in architecture. It also offers a master's program in architecture.
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, College of Architecture and Urban Studies is located in Blacksburg, Virginia. The professional bachelor of architecture curriculum at Virginia Tech is a five-year program. All students in the School of Architecture and Design begin their studies in a common first-year foundation program, after which architecture students pursue professional studies. Virginia Tech also offers graduate programs in architecture.
The Department of Architecture at Kansas State University, located in Manhattan, Kansas, celebrated its centennial in 2003. It offers two degrees: an NAAB-accredited professional master of architecture and a post-professional master of science in architecture. There are approximately 300 students in the program and 25 full-time faculty in the department.
