Advanced legal research, civil litigation, court and judicial administration, advanced legal writing, research methods, advanced paralegal studies/legal ethics, computer applications in law and personnel administration are required core courses. Admission requirements are a bachelor's degree and successful completion of the Graduate Record Examination or the Miller Analogies Test.
Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, offers a Master of Arts in Legal Administration. Program students may choose from two tracks. Those preparing for a paralegal career may choose the legal specialty training track. Those interested in supervising paralegals within law firms, corporations or government agencies may choose the track designed for paralegals moving into paralegal administration. Students enrolled in either track may earn an ABA-approved paralegal studies graduate certificate along with the Master of Arts.

Students may choose a concentration in conflict management and peace studies, governance, compliance and regulation, intellectual property or legal management. In the general program, students may enroll in courses from all four concentrations. Candidates for admission must have a baccalaureate degree with minimum grade point average of 2.75. They must also meet the university's minimum requirements for the Graduate Record Examination.
Texas State University -- San Marcos offers an ABA-approved Master of Arts in Legal Studies with concentrations in alternative dispute resolution, environmental law and legal administration. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum grade point average of 2.75. They must also successfully complete the Graduate Record Examination and an interview with the Director of Legal Studies. The degree is a nonthesis, 36 credit hour program with a core of 21 hours, including a cumulative research project and an internship.
Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, also offers a Master of Arts in Legal Studies. Like some other programs, students may earn an ABA-approved paralegal studies graduate certificate with the Master of Arts. Introduction to legal studies, jurisprudence, ethics for the legal professional, Anglo-American legal history, American constitutional law, methods of legal research and writing, civil actions, criminal actions, advanced topics in law, a computerized legal research elective and a research and writing project are required.
The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., offers a Master of Professional Studies in paralegal studies. It is available in both a traditional classroom-based format and a fully online format. Core courses include American jurisprudence, corporations and contracts law, legal research and writing and litigation. Master's candidates must take two courses each in government law, intellectual property law and international law. The program is not ABA-approved due to the fully online format option.
