The Master of Tourism and Hospitality Management degree prepares students to enter as middle-level managers in the tourism and hospitality industry, in the public, private and commercial sectors. Along with core courses in tourism, the program offers a selection of tracks, namely management, information technology and research.
Students entering the Master of Science in Hospitality Management program should have taken accounting, finance, marketing and cooking courses at the undergraduate level. In addition to the core courses of hospitality, strategic management and financial management, students have the option of completing a thesis track where they learn statistical research methods and conduct a 9-credit research project.
The Master of Management in Hospitality degree is a rigorous program delivered in three semesters in just one year. Focusing on quantitative skills and strategic thinking, students complete the core requirements and choose a concentration from marketing management, real estate finance and investments, operations and revenue management or a self-directed topic of their choice.
Students enrolled in the Department of Hospitality Management and Dietetics can complete a master of science or a doctoral degree. The curriculum focuses on food service, hospitality management and administrative dietetics. The college also offers an online master of science course in dietetics.
Graduates of the dual MBA/M.Sc. degree program in merchandising or hospitality have expertise in both business principles and hospitality management. The four specialization tracks are merchandising, hospitality management, digital retailing and home furnishings merchandising. The degrees can be earned with 54 credit hours of education.
