How to Cite an Addendum

An addendum is a document that contains material to supplement, revise or clarify a previously issued document such as a book, booklet, brochure or other document. The addendum is not to be confused with an appendix. Though both are supplementary materials, an addendum is usually separate from the main document while the appendix is included at the end of the document. An addendum is cited in the format in which it was published. In this example, we are citing the entry "Pomona" found in the Dictionary of Minor Planet Names: Addendum to Fifth Edition: 2006 - 2008, written by Lutz Schmadel in Germany in 2009 and published by Springer.
