Review your academic position before you start the course. Analyze your mathematical skills and abilities before you make the decision. Also, review the amount of time you will be able to devote to this study. If you have a hard-pressing job, you may want to reconsider your decision. But once you decide to start the course, work at it as diligently as possible.
Make notes for all your online sessions. Make a list of all the formulas that you are taught during each session. Also, write down all your concerns as they occur. Approach your online teacher for clarifications when doubts occur. If you delay getting in touch with your teacher, there's a good chance you may forget about the problem.
Practice as many algebraic problems as possible before the test. You may buy or borrow math books and practice the problems contained in the books. You may use resources available over the Internet (See Resources). Provide special focus to all your gray areas. Concentrate deeply on those areas that have been giving you the most difficulty.
Have all the physical resources needed to take the test. Make sure your Internet connection is functioning well. Have your calculator, pens, pencils, erasers and sheets of paper ready for when you start the test.
Take the test in as serene an environment as possible. The test time is limited, so ensure you will not have any distractions during the duration of the test. Make sure the baby won't disturb you, and see that someone else is available to answer the telephone or cell phone.
