While Dartmouth Medical School---of the famed Ivy League Dartmouth University--- does not specifically require that prospective medical students take the MCAT and submit scores, it is strongly advised. They review all applications wherein students have a grade point average at or above the standard and have taken the required courses, the admissions page clearly states that those not taking the MCAT will be at a disadvantage. This does not mean they will not be considered, however.

Students applying for admission to medical school at the University of Ottawa are not required to take the MCAT; however, this means that their grades in all courses will be reviewed much more closely. Candidates for admission are required to have taken certain prerequisite courses at the college level, but are not required to have completed a bachelor's degree prior to admission. In addition to careful scrutiny of grades, the admissions officers will interview selected candidates for suitability in the program.

Northern Ontario School of Medicine does not require the MCAT as part of the application process. Academic performance is closely scrutinized, but non-academic considerations are also taken into account. For example, the school follows a mandate to give an advantage to aboriginal applicants, French Canadian applicants, and applicants from remote and rural areas of Ontario. Applicants must possess a four-year undergraduate degree and have a 3.0 grade point average.
