How many years of medical school does it take to become an orthopedic physician?

Becoming an orthopedic surgeon requires a total of at least 12-14 years of education and training after high school:

* 4 years: Undergraduate education (pre-med)

* 4 years: Medical school (MD or DO)

* 5 years: Orthopedic surgery residency
