Los Angeles is an ideal location for Southwestern Law School's Summer Entertainment Law program. The program gives aspiring entertainment and sports attorneys an opportunity to take courses for credit that can be transferred back to their law schools. The eight-week summer session consists of specialized courses taught by practicing entertainment lawyers, and externships at film and music studios. Students who have finished one year of law school are eligible for the program, but need to provide a letter from their law school verifying they are in good academic standing. Course topics include copyright law, music publishing and sports law.
