Yale University's law school held the top position in "U.S. News & World Report" for its 2009 and 2010 rankings. Yale's law program was recognized as the top program for a number of different reasons, one of which is the variety of degree options students can pursue. Yale also has a low student to faculty ratio and a small number of students admitted to the program. In addition to the traditional Juris Doctor (J.D.) program, students can pursue master's degrees and doctorates in the field. Yale offers multiple joint-degree programs that allow students to receive additional degrees such as the Master of Business Administration or degrees in environmental studies and medicine.
